CemAir is Still Grounded

Category : Cemair , Our Blog

CemAir

CemAir has been recently grounded and has advised that they are unable to assist passengers.

At this stage, CemAir says they are unable to assist with re-accommodating stranded passengers, following the grounding of the airline by the South Africa Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).

“At this stage, our hands are tied and we cannot offer alternative solutions to our customers. As such, we advise you to book an alternative journey to your destinations and we will advise at the soonest possible time about a refund process for your booking with CemAir,” the airline said in a statement.

The CAA has suspended two of the airline’s Air Operator’s Certificates (AOC), grounding the airline indefinitely.

The airline added that it had submitted multiple possible solutions to the problems highlighted by the CAA, but claims all solutions were rejected, indicative of “malicious intent by the CAA to bring CemAir to its knees by grounding it unnecessarily at peak season”.

Airlink Slumps in PZB-CPT Route

Category : Airlines , Airlink , Our Blog

The economy of PZB-CPT has taken a bad turn, when drop in flights had affected the Airlink team. The main issue evolved around the sale of seat tickets, this is by

marketing and sales manager, Karin Murray.
On October 1 Airlink will suspend its Pietermaritzburg-Cape Town route.

Even though a direct daily service between the two cities, using 37-seat Embraer ERJ135LR regional jets has been used, the route however has not become profitable, despite the airline’s efforts which included marketing initiatives to promote the connection.
The crime rate in the area has been climbing by numbers to  theft and burglaries over the years, which has lead to a drop in sales.
The airline apologises for any inconvenience caused by the suspension of the service. Customers will be fully refundable after September 29,2018

CemAir in Back log

Category : Airlines , Our Blog

There has been a large concern based on flight cancellations on Cemair’s Johannesburg-Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town-Plettenberg Bay routes.

The airline says capacity constraints aside, mismanagement and a lack of infrastructure provision on the part of The Bitou Municipality (BM) in Plettenberg Bay are the real challenges the airline faces with regard to its Plettenberg Bay routes

Cemair has faced with backlogged bankruptcy, which needs to be dealt with by adding a few more aircrafts for the routes or signed code-share with another airline. This will surely reduce the back logs and allow airlines to have a head-start with these airline problems, unless a joint agreement can solve the many problems or someone with geographical knowledge can find new place where these municipal problems don’t occur.
