What you need to do if affected by the potential SAA strike

As you may be aware, two South African Airways unions have served SAA (“the Company”) with a notice of their intention to strike commencing on 15 November 2019. Although negotiations are continuing to try and avert the strike, the Company has taken a decision to suspend all operations on 15 and 16 November 2019. Your flight MAY be affected, but we are here to help you.

WHEN ARE FLIGHTS AFFECTED
Friday 15 & Saturday 16 November 2019

WHO IS NOT AFFECTED
The cancellations only affect flights operated by SAA. All flights operated on partner airlines (Mango, SA Express, Airlink and all codeshare partners) will not be affected. Please see list of flights that are still operational below.

WHAT TO DO NOW

Travelstart our booking agent will be able to help you:

  • Rebook if your Travelstart booking reference starts with ZA – You may rebook your flight onto another South African Airways flight for any flight until 31 October 2020 at no extra charge and subject to availability in the same booking class.
  • Issue a full ticket refund (including taxes) to the original form of payment, if you no longer wish to travel.

The following flight number ranges would operate normally:

As the duration of the strike is unknown at this time, SAA would be reviewing future operations daily.
