At the end of this month, the Lufthansa Group is introducing Amadeus Airport Pay, which enables secure and simple payments for ancillaries at all check-in counters and gates with card terminals.

This new service, developed by Amadeus and Ingenico, will be available at 170 airports around the world, including OR Tambo International Airport and Cape Town International Airport.

Customers will be able to pay for ancillaries such as excess baggage with chip cards (debit or credit cards), girocard payments and compatible digital wallets. Airline staff will also be able to initiate compensation payments with these terminals in case a passenger voluntary steps back from an overbooked flight, for example.
