TAAG Angola Airlines E.P. is the state-owned national airline of Angola. Based in Luanda. They have set the record straight following confusion caused by a post on its website that said all passengers connecting through Luanda had to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate, regardless of point of origin or destination.

South African passengers transiting in Luanda for 12 hours do not the yellow injections. The yellow certificate is however required if you are travelling  to or from infected area or they are staying longer than 12 hours in Luanda.

According to Cape Town’s  airline station manager , Rupert Greyling, the published statement on their  website last week, had incorrect information and has been removed.

Please note, that south african passengers travelling to areas that require yellow fever vaccination  like Brazil, need vaccination certificate. Those travelling to non-infected countries do not  need the yellow certificate. unless they are in transit in Luanda for more than 12 hours, in which case the certificate is required.”
